Each year, MountainWest Capital Network (MWCN) recognizes a Utah business executive who has built a successful Utah-based company, inspiring others to participate in the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship. The MWCN Entrepreneur of the Year Award is unique because it celebrates those that give back to the state.

Savage started in 1946, shortly after Kenneth Savage returned from U.S. Naval duty at the end of World War II. Kenneth and his father purchased a KB-5 International stake body truck and C.A. Savage & Son began hauling cinder blocks to Utah’s Uintah Basin and coal to American Fork, Utah. Soon after that, Kenneth’s brothers, Neal and Luke, joined the company and it grew quickly. Now nearly 80 years later, they have thousands of team members in hundreds of locations across the United States and Canada, as well as operations in Saudi Arabia and Mexico. They perform project work on five continents and continue to expand service offerings for truck, rail and marine transportation and logistics, materials handling, and other industrial services.
